Drama focuses on parents role in kids' upbringing

PANAJI: Mario Menezes' tiatr 'Omtea Kollxear Udok' is all about irresponsibility, unfaithfulness, betrayal and forgiveness. This family melodrama highlights the guardians' major role in their children's upbringing and the consequences that follow when they fail to perform their parental duties effectively.
The story revolves around Rio (Mario Menezes) and Sabina Menezes' (Sabina) family.Their only son Franko (Franky Gonsalves) is a spoilt brat due to continuous pampering by his mother. Rio tries his level best to correct Franko, but Sabina tries to sweep her son's every misdeed under the carpet, thus giving him the freedom to continue misbehaving.
Franko's sister Katy (Rosy Alvares), who got married against her parents' wish, decides to return home soon after her father-in-law falls ill. While her husband Keagan (Lawry Travasso) makes his business trip to the Gulf, Sabina shelters Katy at home. Once again, Rio draws the attention of his wife and requests her to send Katy back to her husband's place, but to no avail. The dire consequences that follow in Franko and Katy's lives are worth watching during the second half of the drama.
TedBear (comedian Michael) and Deepika (Joana) with the support of John Hatts and Bobet de Quepem perform good comic roles on stage and trigger laughter among the spectators. Sabina and Joana displaying their dancing skills on stage are worth watching.
Mario and Sabina do justice to their sober and aggressive characters respectively. Lawry as a uxorious hubby and Rosy as the unfaithful spouse attract the attention from the audience. Franky and Eddie give their best to their respective roles.
The tiatr has twelve songs rendered by Franky, Sabina, Tony de Ribandar, Rosy, Lawry Travasso, Joana, comedian Michael, Peter de Arambol and Mario Menezes with socio-political themes and messages. A trio by Tony/Mario/Peter has a good message and receives applause from the tiatr fans.
The band comprises Dexter and Macroy (trumpet), Elrick (keyboard), Mariano (bass) and Manuel (drums). Piety de Navelim handles the light effects, while Saldanha manages the stage sets.
